His mana gains are set to a single very high +7 bonus in Blue, and small bonuses in Black and in Red, with cuts to White and Green. His deck limits are unbalanced, with two extra Creatures and one less Support.

Kaito's Passive, which is arguably his best ability, rewards maintaining a high amount of Loyalty (20)

Kaito, Bane of Nightmares is the third of a number of playable Planeswalkers in MtGPQ which embody Kaito at different points in their [[#Story|life story]].

Given that Kaito has a high mana bonus, and mills a card from the opponent, it must be said that Kaito's [[#Fatal Ambush|Fatal Ambush]] ability is in every way similar to but inferior to [[Ral, Crackling Wit]]'s [[Ral, Crackling Wit#Order of the Otters|Order of the Otters]]. Almost twice the cost, less than half the effect, and Ral's activates every turn thereafter, rather than waiting for the opponent to do something that they can simply choose not to do. The similarities, the proximity of release, and the depth of inferiority, absolutely beg for a comment which is normally restrained. Kaito thus falls into a familiar category of Magic activity : making something broken work. Sufficient Ninjas can perhaps be created with his Passive, to raise the damage of Fatal Ambush, but it is still entirely dependent on the computer opponent choosing to cast something they can simply keep in hand.

[[Angrath, Minotaur Pirate]] is a black and red minotaur Planeswalker, introduced on Halloween 2024, some time after the release of the [[Rivals of Ixalan]] card set, and a good while after the Ixalan reboot.

His predecessor, [[Angrath, the Flame-Chained]], held the title of highest health in the game for years, but AMP broke it convincingly, with a higher than 10% gain. His mana gains are superlative, with a larger than usual total bonus. He has the common Red problem of low support limits, but also has a mediocre spell limit.

Like the original Vraska, he can complete contemporary "summon X Pirates" event objectives without additional cards.

She has lower than average health and average deck limits with a lower Creature limit. Her mana gain is like a tricolor Walker, with +3 to Red and Blue as well as Black, and neutral White and Green.

Liliana of the Dark Realms's second ability is almost as expensive as her third, despite being a much weaker version of the same thing, but her third can create a strong swing in favor of her defense. Like her immediate predecessor, [[Liliana of the Veil]] L9, she is one of not very many Planeswalkers that can directly remove creatures without targeting them, avoiding {{Ability|Ward}} and {{Ability|Hexproof}}. His mana gains are strategically set to two high bonuses in his colors, and a small backup bonus in Red. His deck limits are balanced, with an extra Spell.

On release, his abilities were much more expensive; all three were patched in the very next update to cost the same : 08 loyalty. All three summon one or more [[#Kaito Shadow Clone|Kaito Shadow Clone]] tokens. His first is a combination of Surveil and card draw. The second destroys a target opposing creature, and gains mana. The third buffs friendly and stuns enemy creatures.
