[[Kiora, Master of the Depths]] is a blue and green merfolk Planeswalker, introduced in June 2016 along with the [[Oath of the Gatewatch]] card set.

She has lower than average health and average deck limits, with a focus on Spells. Like her fellow OGW [[Planeswalkers]] she has a combined mana bonus below normal; dual color PWs usually have eight total, but she has six. Like other [[OGW]] and [[Battle for Zendikar]] Planeswalkers, she has only [[Origins]] cards in her [[#Starting Deck|Starting Deck]].

Her abilities are a mix of powerful effects, including draining the enemy's mana while giving mana to her own cards, {{Ability|fetch|fetching}} a creature card from her library with a large mana boost, and creating a huge octopus {{Ability|Token}} with {{Ability|Reach}} and {{Ability|Trample}}.

Prior to January 2017, Kiora cost {{Crystals|950}} to acquire, which remains the highest historical cost in Crystals of any Planeswalker. These days, she is usually on sale at a reduced cost, below the 650 Crystals of other dual color walkers.

Kiora, Master of the Depths is the first of few playable [[Planeswalkers]] in MtGPQ which embody Kiora at different points in her life.

While [[Portal:Story|Story Mode]] is a great place to start playing and will account for the majority of the player's Crystals in the first months, and [[Training (Story)|Training]] is the first place to gain fast card [[rewards]], '''Events''' are the mainstay of ''[[Magic: the Gathering Puzzle Quest]]''. [[PvE]] and [[PvP]] events allow players to gain [[Resources]] as well as [[cards]]. Joining Events used to require the player to play through a significant portion of the Story, but Webcore streamlined this in December of 2024 to completing just three games.

Events generally consist of one or more Nodes, which are either limited to the number of Charges, or can be played repeatedly. Winning and achieving objectives gathers Ribbons to increase score; the score, in turn, determines [[Rewards]].

The Rewards from a PvP event are split according to the events' scoring tiers, and each time an event fills up with the number of players equal to the tiers' limit, new [[Brackets]] are created. This effectively makes new events for players that subsequently join, except that players will face off against opponents from any Bracket.

Every weekend, [[Coalition]] events are held; join a Coalition before the event starts to play them, and receive Coalition points. Events usually start off as [[Standard]], often becoming [[Legacy]] when their associated [[set]] rotates out of Standard.

The upper limits on the number of Creature, Spell, and [[Support]] cards in the deck are also specific to each Planeswalker.

Planeswalkers begin at level 1; their [[level]]s may be increased by spending [[Resources#Mana Runes|Mana Runes]] ({{Runes}}), to a maximum of level 60, gaining hit points and more powerful [[:Category:Planeswalker abilities|abilities]]. Unusual mana gain is part of the design of colorless walkers, and there is no easy rule to define their bonuses. There are clear benefits to playing Planeswalkers with high spike bonuses with mana conversion, and when playing without mana conversion, to use Planeswalkers with a balanced spread of bonuses. Some Planeswalkers have abilities that benefit their mana bonuses; notably [[Karn, Scion of Urza]], [[Sarkhan Unbroken]], [[Tamiyo, Field Researcher]] , and [[Ugin, the Spirit Dragon]].

Origins Planeswalkers had their mana bonuses raised from +5 to +7 with [https://forums.d3go.com/discussion/92133/release-notes-7-3-1 update 7.3.1].

== History==
Hibernum, the original developers of MtGPQ, made a complex system for Planeswalkers, of not only ascending power, but ascending ability costs. All Planeswalkers had abilities straight out of the gate, at level 1. Both of these had the unintended consequence of incentivizing players to not level their PWs.

Oktagon, from their first [[set]] of [[Ixalan]], made a uniform system for PW leveling. Since then, all Planeswalkers released obtain their abilities when the units digit of their level is 6 or zero : 6, 10, 16, 20, 26, 30, etc. Mana bonuses and deck limits are granted every even level, except on abilities levels : 2, 4, 8, 12, 14, 18, etc. And an amount of HP is added every odd level, or Planeswalker Regeneration : 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 etc. With more recent Planeswalkers, the HP added is lower at low levels, presumably as an additional incentive to level up.

Ajani, Sleeper Agent has average health and average deck limits. He has balanced mana bonuses, while retaining the opportunity for prioritization.

He can gain extra mana for Vanguards or Creatures with {{Ability|Phyrexian Gem|Phyrexian Gems}}; he can buff his creatures' power and toughness permanently, and give them {{Ability|Lifelink}} and {{Ability|Vigilance}} temporarily. These abilities power up the {{Ability|Resilient}} support his third ability creates: [[#Phyrexian Poison|Phyrexian Poison]], and activate the stupendously buffed Myr token it can create.

[[Ajani, Invigorate Leadership]] is a white leonin Planeswalker, released in January 2022 for the [[Puzzle Masters]] card set.

He is tied for highest white mana bonus with three other Planeswalkers; +7 is also two points higher than the next highest bonus. This, and moderately high gains in Blue and green, is achieved with deep cuts to black and red (-2).

Ajani, Invigorate Leadership is best known for his [[#Abilities|Abilities]] and Passive Ability. His first ability and his Passive push hard to keep his health high or even full. The second can augment the Lifelink of the first or simply do more damage, and the third protects this investment in creatures against creatures with {{Ability|Defender}}, {{Ability|Berserker}}, and against direct spell damage.

As with all Improved gems, {{Ability|Enlist}} gems give their effects to the opponent if the opponent matches them.
