Story

Sorin Markov is a Planeswalker, and though his family no longer welcomes him, he has gone to extraordinary lengths to protect his home plane. Over the centuries after the birth of their race, the vampires of Innistrad grew increasingly disdainful of humanity and hunted them ever more boldly. As Sorin watched through the years, he saw that as the vampires’ power increased, human villages dwindled, so he created the archangel Avacyn and established a religion around her, incorporating magical wards that would give her followers protection against the horrors of the night.
