Angrath, Minotaur Pirate

Angrath, Minotaur Pirate is a black and red minotaur Planeswalker, introduced on Halloween 2024, some time after the release of the Rivals of Ixalan card set, and a good while after the Ixalan reboot.

His predecessor, Angrath, the Flame-Chained, held the title of highest health in the game for years, but AMP broke it convincingly, with a higher than 10% gain. His mana gains are superlative, with a larger than usual total bonus. He has the common Red problem of low support limits, but also has a mediocre spell limit.

Like the original Vraska, he can complete contemporary "summon X Pirates" event objectives without additional cards.

Ability 1 - Gathering the Crew

   Level 1: Discard 2 cards. Then: Draw 2 cards.

   Level 2: Create an Angrath Vessel Token. Discard 2 cards. Then: Draw 2 cards.

   Level 3: Create 2 Angrath Vessel Tokens. Discard 2 cards. Then: Draw 2 cards.

   Level 4: Create 3 Angrath Vessel Tokens. Discard 2 cards. Then: Draw 2 cards. 

Ability 2 - Pirate Smash

(Cost 13)

       Level 1: Deal X damage to the first opposing creature. X is the greatest power among Pirate creatures you control.

       Level 2: Deal X damage to the first opposing creature. A random opposing Support loses 1 shield. X is the greatest power among Pirate creatures you control.

       Level 3: Deal X damage to the first opposing creature. Up to 2 random opposing Supports lose X shield. X is the greatest power among Pirate creatures you control.

       Level 4: Deal X damage to the first opposing creature. Up to 3 random opposing Supports lose X shield. This effect can affect Vanguard Supports. X is the greatest power among Pirate creatures you control.

Ability 3 - Rage of the Minotaur

(Cost 20)

       Level 1: Destroy all creatures.

       Level 2: Destroy all creatures.
Deal X damage to your opponent's Planeswalker. X is the number of Creature cards in all graveyards.

       Level 3: Destroy all creatures. Deal X damage to your opponent's Planeswalker. X is the number of Creature cards in all graveyards. Then: Return the first creature from your graveyard to the battlefield.

       Level 4: Destroy all creatures. Deal X damage to your opponent's Planeswalker. X is the number of Creature cards in all graveyards. Then: Return the first creature from your graveyard to the battlefield. That creature gets +Y/+Y. Y is 2 times the damage dealt to your opponent.

Story

"Angrath was trapped on Ixalan due to Nicol Bolas’ use of the Immortal Sun. The minotaur also fought in the War of the Spark, when he was last seen, imprisoned once more by Bolas. Little is known of his whereabouts after Nicol Bolas’ defeat."
