Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord is a black vampire Planeswalker, released in October 2019 along with the Core Set 2020 card set.
He has average health, high mana gains with a very unbalanced spread, and average deck limits. His bonus to black is tied for first with Liliana, Untouched by Death; at +7, their bonus is very high, but tied for third second highest with many other Planeswalkers, behind Koth, Jaya, Fiery Negotiator and Tezzeret, Betrayer of Flesh, all at +9.
The theme of his abilities is Vampire creatures. He can buff them, Fetch them, turn other creatures into Vampires, and sacrifice them to drain life from a target.
Story
<blockquote>"Thousands of years ago, famine forced the alchemist Edgar Markov into dark experiments. Making a deal with the demon Shilgengar for the secrets of sangromancy, Edgar created a blood ritual which granted agelessness and the ability to subsist on blood.<br>When Edgar anointed his grandson, Sorin, with the same vampiric state, the trauma of the transformation caused Sorin's planeswalker spark to ignite."</blockquote>
