They were introduced in May 2021 along with the [[Strixhaven]] card setfocus on spells.

Although they are categorized as having a slightly unbalanced spreadWeaken ability, Chill Down cannot kill creatures, only reduce their power and average deck limits with toughness. Will's third, Breaking the Ice, is a focus on spellspotential one-shot game ender once enough {{Ability|Enhance|Enhanced}} cards are played.
