Duets of Mana: Spite and Martyrdom

Spite and Martyrdom is the first chapter in the two-part event series, Duets of Mana, launched in October 2019 with Core Set 2020. Each chapter is a Legacy PvE weekday event, typically with two events being run in the same week.

Spite and Martyrdom's theme focuses on the lives of Ajani Goldmane and Sorin Markov.

Special rules

The event has the following special features:

Permanent support		A permanent support affects play on one or more nodes.

Odd-numbered nodes have Perseverance, and even-numbered, Unholy Sustenance.

Pools of Becoming	21	Gain 15 life. Draw 5 cards. Then, the first 5 cards in your hand gain 10 mana.

Blood Frenzy	9	Target creature you control gains Deathtouch  and Lifelink  until end of turn. If that creature is a Vamprire, it gets +8/+0. Otherwise, it gains the Vampire subtype.
Purify the Bloodline	15	Lose a Vampire reinforcement. If you can't, destroy your first creature. Then, deal 12 damage to any opposing target and gain 12 life.
Markov's Legacy	21	Fetch the first 5 Vampires from your library. Create an Improved Markov's Legacy token .
