Overview
Oath of the Gatewatch is the third Magic: The Gathering - Puzzle Quest set, released in June 2016 in version 1.5 of the game. The set abbreviation is OGW, and the set icon () is a stylized split triangular shape with some resemblance to a hedron.
Nodes of Power is a Legacy PvP event, similarly released.

There are no Oath of the Gatewatch packs given as rewards, because Oath of the Gatewatch cards are only found in Battle for Zendikar packs, with the exception of one included in the Zendikar Welcome Pack from Duel Decks: Zendikar vs Eldrazi.

Ajani Vengeant (AJ1), Kiora, Master of the Depths and Sarkhan the Mad are Planeswalkers released around the time of OGW. Like the Battle for Zendikar Planeswalkers that preceded them, they all have lower than normal mana bonus totals and Origins cards in their Starting Decks. Mana gains, with one exception, were (temporarily) sorted out in the next sets, Shadows over Innistrad and its expansion, Eldritch Moon, and non-Origins cards added to EMN's Arlinn Kord.
Cards
Oath of the Gatewatch is one of the smallest sets, containing only 53 cards, and no Common or Masterpiece cards.

Like Aether Revolt and Eldritch Moon, Oath of the Gatewatch was a Hibernum expansion set. It was an even-numbered release that did not have its own packs, had its main set's cards offered as rewards in its own events, and had no Commons.

Hour of Devastation was the first set to not be added to the pool of cards of the previous, odd-numbered release.
