Return of the God-Pharaoh is a [[Legacy]] [[PvE]] [[Coalition]] [[event]] with a [[#History|long history]], including having its [[#Historical objectives|objectives changed]] in 2018 and 2023. It was introduced in July 2017 with the [[Hour of Devastation]] set.
None Because it is a PvE event, the opponents' deck lists are full of its objectives require cards from HOUHour of Devastation and its plane of Amonkhet. There is flavor from HOU [[A World Reborn]], though, other than the bosses themselves: one boss ability affects {{Ability|Activate}}d gems[[Avacyn's Madness]], [[Battle of Four Tribes]] and [[The Elderspark]] are also both PvE and one summons ZombiesCoalition.
Because it is a PvE eventNone of its objectives require cards from HOU. Elements from HOU, other than the opponents' deck lists guarantee considerable flavor from the associated set. Only cards and bosses themselves are present: [[The Elderspark#1.3 Proven Combatant|Proven Combatant's ability]] is also both PvE affects {{Ability|Activate|Activated}} gems, one summons Zombies, and Coalitionanother buffs them once cast.
July 2021 The 70 hour Avacyn's Madness will be the longest and most difficult event newer players have seen. Return of the God-Pharaoh is longer still: 96 hours, four days. Because it is a Boss Health event, it may, like Avacyn's Madness, end sooner. It is also more dangerous to the unwary. [[#3.3 Nicol Bolas|Nicol Bolas, Node 3.3]], is a good example. He can easily kill opponents in a very short number of turns, but plays almost entirely Spells and Spell-reliant Supports, most of which require a target: the player's creatures. It was always possible to play without creatures and make most of his deck and his Loyalty ability redundant, but he may be one of the easier bosses now because of Test of Talents. RGP has three "wheel" nodes to AM's five. The points awarded on each "wheel" vary greatly just as AM's do: 15 points on the first and 60 on the last time it was run until November 2022, compared with AM's 10 points on the first and 55 on the last. They are spread similarly, also, with the middle wheel on both being 15 points for the Win! objective in both events.

== Historical Data History ==A more than five year old event, which diminished in frequency in its fourth and fifth year; it was scheduled to run three times each in 2019 and 2020, twice in 2021, and once in 2022, on the 4th of November. Currently seeing a resurgence, being run on the 10th of February, 2023, and the 27th of October, 2023.  Objectives have been changed twice; first in July 2018. In 2023, Puzzle Quest's new developers, Webcore, replaced some of the objectives for the near-Halloween running of this event. The deck list for [[#1.1 The Sunset Pyramid|Node 1.1, The Sunset Pyramid]], was incomplete for years. When originally compiled, a duplicate listing of {{Card URL|Dunes of the Dead}} was overlooked. The correct card listing, {{Card URL|Desert of the Fervent}}, was added before the November 2022 run.
