He has average health. At release, he was tied with his immediate predecessor ([[Teferi, Chronoclast]]) for the third highest Blue mana gains. He maintains his high Blue mana bonus, and decent mana gains in white and black, with the aid of the deepest minus in the game (tied, again with Teferi 4, and [[Lukka, Wayward Bonder]]): -3 to red. He maintains both balanced deck limits and the second highest Support limit by having a lower than average Creature limit.
His second ability is priced higher than some third ability can potentially destroy all enemy creaturesabilities, if and although the growth of the opponent's hand token it summons is tied to card drawing, at which Blue excels, it is fulllimited by {{Ability|Resourceful}} 1, to once per turn.
His third ability returns all enemy cards, and can potentially destroy them if the opponent's hand is full. It is one of the most expensive abilities in the game, and [[#Bug|is currently bugged]]. Witness of History (TTF's second ability) does not, as is more than implied by the description, increase the level of [[#Ghost of Wars Past|Ghost of Wars Past]] on repeated usage.
The lower levels of Sever the Timeline (TTF's third ability) correctly return only non-token cards to the opponent's hand. But so do the higher levels, which are supposed to return everything.
