Enraged events cause all creatures to cause double damage after a fixed number of rounds. Early use of Enraged matches gave the double damage benefit to both the player and the opponent. Trail of the Planes introduced the idea that Enraged could be applied one-sided, where only the opponent gets the benefits of double damage and the player must play with a handicap.
