Although emergent strategies are possible, Dakkon seems designed to gain large amounts of Loyalty with Blue gems (especially with conversion) and his first ability, ameliorating the high cost of the second and third and hopefully enabling them to be used more often.
It is worth noting that the first 2 levels of One's Vengeance Path bypass both {{Ability|Hexproof}} and {{Ability|Ward}}, but it is unlikely that a player would leave Dakkon unleveled to utilize this aspect. Level 4 of the ability, while losing the aforementioned bypasses, becomes much more versatile in that it can now target friendly creatures. While maintaining most of it's its offensive use, this now additionally allows for:
-Friendly removal to prolong a match, allowing time to achieve objectives
Note that the effects of the [[#Forging the Blackblade|Forging the Blackblade]] token will not take place if there are no creatures for it to buff. Creatures [[:Category:Weaken|Weakened]] until their Toughness is reduced to zero by Forging the Blackblade do not die until after combat damage is dealt.
