[[Nissa, Sage Animist]] is a green elf Planeswalker, introduced in December 2015 along with the public game launch and [[Origins]]. She is a starting Planeswalker given to all new players when they begin playing the game. As such, she can't be purchased from the vault.

She has low healtha card draw, low and mana gains with boost first ability that at later levels also gives a minor gem conversion effect and minor life gain. Her second gives her creatures a balanced spreadtemporary buff to survive {{Ability|Berserker}}, {{Ability|Defender}} and high deck limits with {{Ability|Reach}} creatures, or simply finish off an opponent. Her last is a focus on Creaturesmajor gem conversion effect, only exceeded by that of [[Kasmina, Enigma Sage]].

== Story Mode, Origins Chapter One == Nissa's [[#Starting Deck|Starting Deck]] has and will be used by every player of MtGPQ ever, Sage Animist but players pursuing a strategy of Low [[Mastery]] to stay as long as possible in Bronze Tier will go to lengths to avoid Mastering even one of its cards. There is sometimes called N1one card available from the start of the game that every player will want to Master: {{Card URL|Gather the Pack}}, a [[reward]] from the [[Puzzle Masters]] [[Training (Story)|Training]] battle [[Training (Story)#Training - PMA|PMA #4 : Seed and is Leyline]]. [[The Guiding Journal]] will eventually provide {{Card URL|Conclave Naturalists}} as well. All of the Green rewards from the Training battles should be used, to soak up XP during the first chapter, and if necessary one or more of Nissa's [[Oath of four playable the Gatewatch|Gatewatch]] companions, her fellow [[PlaneswalkersOrigins]] in MtGPQ which embody Nissa Revane at Planeswalkers, should be purchased to provide, to a certain extent, additional card boosts, but mostly to be able to play cards of a different points in her lifecolor than Green through that first chapter.
