[[Origins]] is the first ''Magic: The Gathering - Puzzle Quest'' [[set]], and was the only existing set at the time of the game's public release in December 2015, in version 1.2 of the game. The set abbreviation is ORI, and the set icon ([[File:ORI_Symbol.png|x16px|ORI]]) resembles a five-pointed rising sun.

The game developers have stated that Origins will == Planeswalkers ==Its [[Planeswalkers]]: [[Chandra, Roaring Flame]] (C1), [[Gideon, Battle Forged]] (G1), [[Jace, Telepath Unbound]] (J1), [[Liliana, Defiant Necromancer]] (L1), and [[Nissa, Sage Animist]] (N1) are always remain available in the Vault (with the exception of Nissa, with whom the player starts), and an affordable alternative for new players, but were designed to be weaker than all other Planeswalkers released later.
