He has low health and high mana gains with a quite unbalanced spread. At release, he had the highest Blue mana bonus in the game, ahead of [[Jace, Mirror Mage]], and the second third highest bonus of any color, behind [[Koth of the Hammer]] and [[Jaya, Fiery Negotiator]] with +9. He has average but unbalanced deck limits, with a Support limit second only to his predecessor and alter ego [[Tezzeret, the Seeker]], and [[Wrenn and Six]]. TBoF gets +6 Blue mana bonus remarkably early, at level 12.
Typically, Tezzeret's abilities revolve around artifacts, and Betrayer of Flesh is no exception. He has abilities that draw cards, gain mana, and create tokens; all of which are enhanced by artifacts.
