They have higher than average health and average deck limits with a focus on spells. They have separate mana bonuses, which are not mirrors of each other as with Rowan Kenrith / Will Kenrith, nor do they follow the color logic of their respective colors, e.g. Red usually prefers Green, but Rowan has the +1 to Will's +2 Green, and Blue usually prefers Black, but Rowan has +2. They both have a +4 to their own color, and a +3 to White, making, for example, Battlefield Forge almost as useful as Shivan Reef.
The Scholars each have their own set of abilities between which the player may flip by using a Loyalty ability. Will alters the opponent's creature's power and toughness, draws, and creates Treasure Token and 4/4 Art Elementals, while Rowan has buff, direct damage, and Spell Copy abilities. Both can draw cards and gain mana. Both of their ability sets have strong synergy with Enhanced gems, with many powers scaling according to the number of Enhanced gems on the board. Will's third, Breaking the Ice, is a potential one-shot game ender once enough Enhance cards are played. Naturally, casting spells is a thing for the twins: the Art Elemental is triggered by Prowess and their Twins of Magic support, by Wizardry.
Although they are categorized as having a Weaken ability, Chill Down cannot kill creatures, only reduce their power and toughness.
