Urza has average health, very good [[Mana ]] gains in his colors and good Spell and Support limits.

[[#Urza, Lord Protector|Lord Protector]] gains Mana and draws [[cards]].

Urza's Transformation is called Tag, as with the Royal Scion twins. It is achieved differently than previous PWs; any Loyalty ability will trigger it, as long as the player controls both of two specific cards. Any Loyalty ability will also trigger Lord Protector's Passive ability, and Fetch one of those cards from outside the game ([[#Urza's Spellbook|Urza's Spellbook]]). As with [[Nicol Bolas, the Ravager]], the transformation is permanent: Urza cannot return to Lord Protector once he has become Planeswalker. Urza returns to the concept of abilities costing differently at different levels, and turns it on its head; instead of more powerful abilities costing More, as with some early Hibernum Planeswalkers, Urza has abilities - Calculating Assessment and Essence Disassembly - that may grow more powerful or stay the same, but cost Less at each new level.
