Planeswalkers are used in all battles in Magic the Gathering: Puzzle Quest. The Planeswalker used determines what colors of cards are allowed in a deck, how many cards of each type are allowed to be placed into a deck, and adds three abilities that use loyalty to create additional effects outside of the deck.
