This page describes shorthand for commonly used icons and symbols you may wish to include in your edits. All of these symbols can be used inline with text.

Mana symbols

A single mana icon (or colorless mana) is produced by double-curly braces around a letter:

{{U}} Blue
{{W}}, {{U}}, {{B}}, {{R}}, {{G}}, {{C}} White, Blue, Black, Red, Green, Colorless

When you want to show multiple color icons together, you can alternatively use the {{Color Icons}} template:

{{Color Icons|URG}} BlueRedGreen

Resources

The {{Runes}}, {{Crystals}}, {{Jewels}}, and {{Orbs}} templates produce the corresponding icon:

{{Runes}}, {{Crystals}}, {{Jewels}}, {{Orbs}} Mana Runes, Mana Crystals, Mana Jewels, Mana Orbs

In each case, a number can optionally be passed to the template, to indicate the amount of resources:

{{Crystals|20}} 20 Mana Crystals

Sometimes you want to show amounts of runes, crystals, and jewels together. You can use the {{RCJ}} template for this:

{{RCJ|2,000|120|150}} 2,000 Mana Runes · 120 Mana Crystals · 150 Mana Jewels
{{RCJ|100||20}} 100 Mana Runes · 20 Mana Jewels

Expansion sets

The symbol for an expansion set can be produced passing by the three-letter set abbreviation to the {{SetSymbol}} template:

{{SetSymbol|ORI}}
{{SetSymbol|XLN}}
{{SetSymbol|ZVE}}
Origins
Ixalan
Zendikar vs Eldrazi

Card type

Card type icons can be produced using the {{Creatures}}, {{Spells}}, and {{Supports}} templates:

{{Creatures}}, {{Spells}}, {{Supports}} Creatures, Spells, Supports

Like the resource templates, the card type templates accept a number which is the amount of cards of that type:

{{Spells|8}} Spells 8

Card rarity

A symbol for any rarity can be produced using the {{Rarity}} templates. Pass it a one-letter (C, U, R, M) or two-letter (MP) abbreviation to tell it which rarity you want:

{{Rarity|C}}
{{Rarity|R}}
{{Rarity|MP}}
Common
Rare
Masterpiece

You can also get a line-up of all the rarity symbols, with one specified rarity highlighted, using the {{Rarity icon lineup}} template:

{{Rarity icon lineup|M}} CommonUncommonRare|Mythic|Masterpiece

Changing the size

Most of these icons can be rendered at a size of your choosing. All templates above except the Resources templates and {{Rarity icon lineup}} can be passed an additional parameter, which is the size (height) of the icon:

{{G|50}} {{SetSymbol|RNA|36}} {{Creatures||10}} {{Rarity|U|24}} Green Ravnica Allegiance Creatures Uncommon
