Cards
In a game of Magic The Gathering: Puzzle Quest, decks are made up of unlimited copies of a selection of 10 cards. Mana is needed to play cards, and is generated by matching gems on the board. New sets of cards are continuously released. Cards come in three types: Creature, Spell, and Support.
Cards usually have a color, and sometimes more than one. Each Planeswalker has affinity for one or more colors, and their decks may contain only cards of those colors, or colorless cards.
Cards often have keyworded or icon-based abilities. A full list of these with descriptions can be found on the Abilities page.
Pack types
Cards may be obtained by opening packs. Different types of packs may be purchased using in-game currency, or gained as rewards in Events. A free pack can also be claimed at regular intervals.
Each card has a rarity of either Common (C), Uncommon (U), Rare (R), Mythic (M), or Masterpiece (MP). Progressively rarer cards are less likely to drop from packs. Drop rates are set by the publisher and may change at any time. Typical drop rates for each rarity in the different pack types are listed below.
Card sets
Standard sets
Cards in these sets may be used in Standard Format or Legacy Format Events.
Legacy sets
Cards in these sets may only be used in Legacy Format Events.
