Overview
Story Mode was the original content for Magic The Gathering: Puzzle Quest. It is where all players start out and is a good way to learn the mechanics of the game and earn some basic rewards to prepare for Events.
Rewards are earned for the initial win, for winning once with every color, and for winning with different optional objectives. Winning with a colorless planeswalker does not advance the "win with every color" objective.
Story Mode Levels
Story Mode is split between four levels. Each level has between 4 and 8 chapters, and each chapter has up to 16 battles.
Story mode level | Set | Number of Chapters | Total Number of Battles |
---|---|---|---|
Origins (Story) | ORI | 6 | 79 |
Training (Story) | Multiple | 8 | 29 |
Battle for Zendikar (Story) | BFZ | 4 | 35 |
Heroic Encounters (Story) | ORI | 6 | 30 |
Strategies
- Early on, play to win and run through the initial rewards, as you will not have the card collections to meet all of the objectives early.
- All battles in Origins - Chapter 1, Part 1 must be beaten using Nissa, Sage Animist before the Events and Coalition game content is unlocked for a new player.
- Every level must be played a minimum of two times to collect all rewards to get wins with all five colors. To do this, you would meet the two optional objectives in addition to using a three color walker (for example, Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh) on one run and an opposing two color walker (for example, Huatli, Radiant Champion) to meet all five color objectives.
