Portal:Events   (Infobox · Data)

PvP Standard Individual event announced on the 12th of August 2024, at the release of update 6.8.0 and Bloomburrow. Only Common cards can be used to build decks for this event.

Commoner Cup is one of only a handful of PvP events that do not give Individual rewards. Other than the daily events, the holiday events, lucrative ones like Across Ixalan, and the odd Role Reversal, every single one is a new event by Webcore : Following the Clues, Into the Wilds of Eldraine, Leyline Dominion, Locomotive Looters, Lost in Caverns of Ixalan, Mana Burn, Silver Duel and Allied Pairs and, since that is pretty much all of Webcore's PvP, presumably every other future PvP.

Objectives were removed, but so were their ribbons. The efforts of players who crafted their decks to achieve objectives came to nothing, while players who put no effort in, were rewarded. Logically, if Webcore had really wanted to speed up the event, they could have increased ribbon rewards. Then players who wanted to avoid the objectives could have done so, and the careful crafters could have finished sooner also.

There is no entry fee, or limitation on games played, or restriction on Planeswalkers. The duration is 46 hours. There is a single node. Like Role Reversal, Commoner Cup has unlimited charges.

Rewards

Follows the reasonably lucrative "four packs in nine games" progression rewards structure common to Webcore games, which tends to make up for there being no Individual rewards, as in Oktagon (e.g. Skoti Bloodline) or Hibernum (e.g. Emergency Ordinances) PvP events.

On occasions when the event is run with Bonus Rewards, as when it was debuted, the final pack is replaced with a Super Pack.
