You've Found An Entrance is a Standard PvE event, released at the same time, featuring elements of the set.

Dungeon Master, Ellywick Tumblestrum, Grand Master of Flowers, Lolth, Spider Queen, Mordenkainen, and Zariel, Archduke of Avernus are Planeswalkers that were released at the same time as the set.

Card and Planeswalker abilities innovated for this set have been used in subsequent sets, but not the widely proclaimed ones. The most enduring have been Alignment, Passive Abilities, and Emblems; the latter being a simple but effective way of giving card abilities a "toggle", or On-Off switch.

Alignment and Passive Abilities

When AFR was released, the Alignment and Passive Ability systems were introduced. Alignment gives selected Planeswalkers "passive" abilities that are triggered when casting a mono colored card of the Planeswalker's color. Chandra, Ignited was given a Passive Ability retroactively, as were the remaining four PMA walkers as they came out and some mono PWs from subsequent sets. The Alignment name was only used on the AFR mono PWs. No cards have the Alignment ability. Alignment itself was introduced as a way of making mono colored Planeswalkers more attractive, but Dungeon Master from AFR, Arlinn, the Pack's Hope and Ob Nixilis, the Adversary have been given Passive Abilities too, which trigger automatically; in ONtA's case, it is an enhancement of all three of his Loyalty abilities. The Alignment symbol was used for the Passive Abilities of all the the AFR mono walkers, and Dungeon Master; each PW since has received a unique symbol for their Passive Abilities.

Cards

The Adventures in the Forgotten Realms card set consists of 200 cards across all five rarities, plus full art variants of 15 of those cards.
