Overview

Gideon of the Trials is a white human Planeswalker, introduced in May 2017 along with the Amonkhet card set.

He has higher than average health, high mana gains with a slightly unbalanced spread, and very low deck limits.

His abilities have an Exile theme, including buffing a creature by Exiling another creature, and returning Exiled creatures to play. He can also create a defensive Token  creature.

Gideon of the Trials, sometimes called G3, is the third of four playable Planeswalkers in MtGPQ which embody Gideon Jura at different points in his life.

Story

Gideon too discovered that Nicol Bolas’s influence ran deep, affecting even the gods. Nicol Bolas had established himself as God-Pharaoh, and the people and gods of Amonkhet believed he would return to welcome them to the afterlife when the magical Second Sun came to rest between the horns of his statue. Whatever the dragon Planeswalker’s plan was for the people, the Gatewatch were sure it wasn’t good. They prepared to face Nicol Bolas when he arrives, ready to do whatever it takes to stop him, even if that means standing against the world’s gods.
