PvP Standard Individual event announced on the 12th of August 2024, at the release of update 6.8.0 and Bloomburrow. Only Common cards can be used to build decks for this event.

There is no entry fee, or limitation on games played, or restriction on Planeswalkers. The duration is 46 hours. There is a single node.

Commoner Cup is one of only a handful of PvP events that do not give Individual rewards. Other than the daily events, the holiday events, lucrative ones like Across Ixalan, and the odd Role Reversal, every single one is a new event by Webcore : Following the Clues, Into the Wilds of Eldraine, Leyline Dominion, Locomotive Looters, Lost in Caverns of Ixalan, and Mana Burn. Like Role Reversal, Commoner Cup has unlimited charges.

Rewards

Follows the reasonably lucrative "four packs in nine games" progression rewards structure common to Webcore games. However, since there are no Individual rewards, the total is much leaner than Oktagon (e.g. The Colossal Tussle) or Hibernum (e.g. Emergency Ordinances) PvP events.

On occasions when the event is run with Bonus Rewards, as when it was debuted, the final pack is replaced with a Super Pack.

Story

“Step 1: Find your cousin. Step 2: Get your cousin in the cannon. Step 3: Find another cousin.!”
Build your deck using only common cards and challenge your opponents in a hands-off battle.
No additional Supports, no Mythical creatures. Just you and your opponent, teeth and claw and instinct.
