Illusions and Flames is an event debuted with 7.1.1 in March 2025, a month after the release of the Aetherdrift set.

It is the third Duel Decks format event, before Fate of the Supervoid in September 2025, Duel Decks: Daxos vs Kalemne in 2020, and Duel Decks: Zendikar vs Eldrazi in 2018.

Progression + Victory/Defeat Side Rewards
Choose a side in this race full of dangers and guarantee victory for your team.
During the Setup Phase, players will be able to play with Chandra, Spark Hunter, and Jace Reawakened. Completing all objectives from a side will give special rewards and allows the player to choose that side on the Setup Phase.
During the Standings Phase and Racing Phase, players will choose a side and fight with their own decks until the event ends. Once a side is selected during this phase, the choice can't be undone. During these phases, players will face their opponents again, but this time, with support that benefits their opponent.
The winning side will be rewarded with an exclusive mythic card!
Special Rules
During the Setup Phase, players will play with pre-built decks.
During the Standing Phase and Racing Phase, players will be able to change their decks but will only use the selected planeswalker. Opponents will have support to help them.
