Overview

Hero's Path - Face the Hydra is a PvE Standard event introduced in March 2020, soon after the release of the Theros Beyond Death card set.

The event has an entry fee of 15 Mana Crystals.

Special rules

	Permanent support: Face the Hydra
	Side: Enemy
	When a Hydra creature is destroyed: The first Hydra creature in that player's hand gains half of its mana. At the end of your turn: If you don't control a Hydra card, lose 10 life. Otherwise, draw a card. Then, deal X damage to your opponent's Planeswalker. X is the number of Hydra creatures and Hydra reinforcements you control, up to 10.

At the beginning of a battle, the player is shown four of the following Hero supports at random. They choose one of those four to start play on their side.

Event support (3 shield): The Avenger   Side: Player Resilient  When you match this support's gem: Your first creature gains Deathtouch  until end of turn. Event support (3 shield): The Harvester   Side: Player Resilient  When you match this support's gem: Discard a card, then draw 2 cards. Event support (3 shield): The Hunter   Side: Player Resilient  When you match this support's gem: Your first creature gets +3/+3 until end of turn. Event support (3 shield): The Philosopher   Side: Player Resilient  When you match this support's gem: Disable the first opposing creature until end of turn.

Event support (3 shield): The Protector   Side: Player Resilient  When you match this support's gem: Your first creature gains Prevent Damage  until end of turn. Event support (4 shield): The Slayer   Side: Player When this support is destroyed: Gain 20 life. Event support (4 shield): The Warrior   Side: Player Resilient  While on the board: Your creatures gain Haste .
