Fate is Rarely Fair is a Legacy PvP event, first released in January 2017 along with the Aether Revolt card set.

Color restriction	One or more nodes in this event can only be played by Planeswalkers of a specified color.

Locked nodes	Once a Planeswalker has been chosen for a node, it's locked in* for the whole event.*

Enraged	Side: Both	Turns: 5
After 5 turns, both players become enraged* and deal double damage.*

Planeswalker color restriction	Red
Only planeswalkers with affinity to Red* can be played.*

Objectives	Reward
Win the Fight!	4 · 100
Assembly Line: Summon 2 or more Vehicles during a single fight.	2
Speed: Win the fight within 8 rounds.	1

Planeswalker color restriction	Green
Only planeswalkers with affinity to Green* can be played.*

Aether Boost: Energize 8 or more Gems during a single fight.	2
Foundry: Cast 3 or more Artifact supports during a single fight.	1
