The Revolving Planeswalks are Standard PvP events, released the 10th of October 2022 - the same time as Dominaria United.

Revolving Planeswalk has five varieties, which are run as daily events during the week. Each version of the event and each node corresponds to a different colour; the color of the event determines the Permanent Support. All the nodes are the same on every version, but they are run in a different order: the first node is always the color of the event version.

RP replaced Zendikar Expeditions as the daily event. Where ZE offered five nodes, any of which could be played while they had charges, RP returns to the "unlock the wheel" style of Across Ixalan; nodes in this event are unlocked by defeating the previous node.

Each node is, further, both color locked and Planeswalker locked : a PW of a color corresponding to the node color must be chosen, and that same PW must be used on that node throughout.

RP features no elements of the DMU set. Instead, all of the ten objectives require the Casting of two creatures with a Basic EvergreenBerserkerDeathtouchDefenderDouble StrikeFirst StrikeFlyingHexproofLifelinkMenaceReachTrampleVigilance ability; one each of ten of the twelve Evergreens; all except LifelinkLifelink and HexproofHexproof. Oddly, because even Wizards of the Coast calls these abilities Basic, only two of the ten objectives have been seen previously : the First Strike name had been used before, but it required Summoning, not Casting.

All of the objectives are named after the Abilities they require except for Winged, which requires creatures with FlyingFlying, and Threaten, which requires MenaceMenace.

The Evergreens of the secondary objectives, as one might expect, are those common to creatures of that color, except for the Double StrikeDouble Strike required for the Red node (see Notes).

Each instance of the event has an entry fee of 20 Mana Crystals.

Story

“Unite your favorite cards and Planeswalkers to visit a random plane from among the current standard rotation and enjoy the best strategical buffs that each of them can offer!
In this PvP event, each day you will fight against other players with the help of a different set of supports that bring the characteristics of one of the current standard rotation’s sets.
Your Planeswalkers will be attached to their current nodes, so you can play with any Planeswalker that shares at least one color with the node’s colors.”

Notes

The initial announcement of the event's release proclaimed a points structure of five Ribbons (Ribbons) for the win, and three and two for the secondary objectives. Popular disclaiming of this plan on the forums led to the current points structure, with double the points available.

As of the release of this event, there are only two Red Double Strike creatures in the whole of Standard, one of which is a Masterpiece. Until this might be fixed, it will force players of the Red Node to play White and Red Planeswalkers on it, or forego the points for that objective, or draw the match out for a very long time.
