Tainted Darkness (forums) is a Standard Coalition PvP event, released in November 2025 with update 7.6.0 and the Shadowmoor (SHM) card set.

Story

“One night Oona bottled the sky. The next night she aligned the stars and released it.”

Despite being the same exact plane, Shadowmoor is very different from Lorwyn. Where it was always sunny the plane is now dark, gloomy and foggy. Resources are scarce and the tribes now constantly bicker and fight over every scrap. What once was brimming with life is now a place of oppression, horror and death.
