Revolving Planeswalk is a series of Standard PvP events, first released on the 10th of October 2022 along with the Dominaria United set. That event was released as Revolving Planeswalk; since renamed to Revolving Planeswalk: DMU Edition, in line with the nomenclature of the second in the series: Revolving Planeswalk: BRO Edition.

Revolving Planeswalk has five varieties, which are run as daily events during the week, each with an entry fee of 20. Each version of the event and each node corresponds to a different colour. All five nodes and their special supports appear in every version, run in a different order for each color of event; the first node is always the color of the event. Subsequent nodes are unlocked by defeating the previous node.

RP features no unique elements of the DMU set. Instead, all of the ten objectives require the Summon of two creatures with a Basic Evergreen ability, with two exceptions: Haste is not an Evergreen ability, and the fliers of the Blue Node must be Cast). Two abilities are each node, totalling nine of the twelve Basic Evergreens; all except Berserker, Lifelink and Hexproof.

Once a Planeswalker is selected for a node, that selection cannot be changed for the duration of the event, but the Planeswalker is still available to be used on other nodes. For example, a UBR Nicol Bolas could be chosen for all three of the Blue, Black and Red nodes, but the player could not switch to him if a Jace had already been chosen for the Blue node. = Notes =

RP replaced Zendikar Expeditions as the daily event. ZE offered five nodes, any of which could be played while they had charges.

The initial announcement of the event's release proclaimed a points structure of five Ribbons (25) for the win, and three and two for the secondary objectives. Popular criticism of this plan on the forums led to the current points structure, with double the points available.

All of the objectives are named after the Abilities they require except for Winged, which requires creatures with Flying, and Threaten, which requires Menace.

The Evergreens of the secondary objectives, as one might expect, are those common to creatures of that color, except for the Double Strike required for the Red node. As of the release of this event, there are only two Red Double Strike creatures in the whole of Standard, one of which is a Masterpiece. There are no PWs that summon creatures with Double Strike, and Kalemne, Disciple of Iroas is the only PW that grants it to creatures in hand. Until this might be fixed, it will force players of the Red Node to play White and Red Planeswalkers on it, or forego the points for that objective, or draw the match out for a very long time.

Perhaps oddly, because even Wizards of the Coast calls these abilities Basic, only two of the ten objectives have been seen previously; the Defender name had been used before, but it required Cast, not Summon.

A bug on Black Node was fixed : When a creature with Deathtouch or Menace was summoned, Compleation Station's effect would activate even if it was declined in the popup, giving a random creature Imminent Death.

Revolving Planeswalk is a series of Standard PvP events, first released on the 10th of October 2022 along with the Dominaria United set. Each version of Revolving Planeswalk has five varieties, which are run as daily events during the week, each with an entry fee of 20 Mana Crystals. Each version of the event and each node corresponds to a different colour. All five nodes and their special supports appear in every version, run in a slightly different order for each color of event. The first node is always the color of the event; the rest are run in the order: Blue, Black, Red, Green, with White taking the place of whichever other color might be first. Subsequent nodes are unlocked by defeating the previous node.

Revolving Planeswalk nodes have a very fast, two hour recharge time.

Special rules

Each event in the series has the following special features:

Permanent support Permanent support
A permanent support affects play on one or more nodes.
Color restriction Color restriction One or more nodes in this event can only be played by Planeswalkers of a specified color.
Locked nodes Locked nodes Once a Planeswalker has been chosen for a node, it's locked in for the whole event.

Once a Planeswalker is selected for a node, that selection cannot be changed for the duration of the event, but the Planeswalker is still available to be used on other nodes. For example, a BlueBlackRed Nicol Bolas could be chosen for all three of the Blue, Black and Red nodes, but the player could not switch to him if a Jace had already been chosen for the Blue node. This differs from the usual type of Locked Nodes, where a PW can only be used on a single node.

Rewards

The rewards always follow the same format, with Boosters and Rares from the set associated with the event version.
