Eldritch Moon is the fifth Magic: The Gathering - Puzzle Quest set, released in October 2016 in version 1.7.1 of the game. The set abbreviation is EMN, and the set icon () resembles a tentacled Eldrazi creature.
Emrakul's Corruption is a block-restricted PvP event released at the same time and featuring elements of the set. Emrakul's Corruption gives Shadows over Innistrad pack rewards, because EMN cards were rolled into the SOI set and are, with extremely rare exceptions, only in in SOI packs.
Hallow's Eve is a PvP Legacy event, similarly released.
Arlinn Kord and Liliana, the Last Hope are Planeswalkers released at the same time as the set.
Cards
Eldritch Moon is one of the smallest sets in the game, consisting of 67 cards, nearly all creatures. The set has no Common or Masterpiece cards.
Like Aether Revolt and Oath of the Gatewatch, Eldritch Moon was an expansion set. Eldritch Moon is, according to D3GO, a "sub-set" of Shadows over Innistrad.[1] Hibernum added EMN cards to SOI packs at release, and EMN is usually found only in SOI packs.
Unlike AER and OGW, EMN not only had its main set's cards offered as rewards in its own events, and had no Commons, but it is given as individual cards, outside of a pack, as a reward in its "parent" set's event : Avacyn's Madness.
Avacyn's Madness is a SOI event, but gives Eldritch Moon Coalition Rewards. It gives them as single cards, in the style of Training rewards, and until December 2022, it is believed that Eldritch Moon packs did not exist.
Special EMN booster packs of 5 cards were constructed to award as additional, holiday season prizes in the December 2022 running of Avacyn's Madness. They are missing the "Gisa and Geralt" Mythic and "Oath of Liliana" Rare, for a count of 65 out of EMN's 67 cards.
Hour of Devastation was the first set to not be added to the pool of cards of the previous, odd-numbered release.
Hallow's Eve avoids the issue altogether, by giving pack rewards distinguished by color rather than set.
Arlinn Kord has SOI cards in her starting deck instead of EMN cards, and Liliana, the Last Hope has only Origins cards.
