Huatli, Warrior Poet is a white and red human Planeswalker, introduced in February 2018 along with the Ixalan card set.

She has higher than average health and average deck limits, focusing on Creatures. She has good mana gains in her colors and a minor bonus to Green, with small minuses to Blue and Black.

The theme of her abilities is creature interactions, including a minor temporary power buff with life gain, a Token  creature, and a damage-dealing third ability which strips enemy creatures of defensive abilities.

Huatli, Warrior Poet, sometimes called H1, is the first of two playable Planeswalkers in MtGPQ which embody Huatli at different points in her life.

Huatli's second ability is reliant on five cards which make Dinosaur tokens. All of them except Forbidden Friendship are also creatures, in which case only one of them can be used : Quartzwood Crasher, Regisaur Alpha, Crested Herdcaller, Gavi, Nest Warden and Forbidden Friendship.

Story

Huatli is a Warrior-Poet to be of the Sun Empire, a title bestowed to only one person in a generation. To earn that title, one must demonstrate excellency in service to the kingdom. Out on a mission and in combat with the Minotaur Pirate, Angrath, her Planeswalker spark ignites. She sees glimpes of a golden City and is pulled back into lxalan. Angrath recognizes what she is and asks for her help in trying to planeswalk away from lxalan. Thinking she saw Orazca, she declines and rushes back to her emperor. She, then, embarks on an expedition to find Orazca and earn the title of Warrior-Poet.
