Overview
Legacy is a card set format which includes all card sets.
Legacy is often contrasted to Standard, a format including Origins, plus some of the newest card sets. Legacy format is associated with the Legacy Ribbon (
), while Standard format has no graphical symbol in the game.
In events
In a Legacy Format event, decks may contain any card, since the Legacy format includes all card sets. The increased freedom in Legacy events often makes them a higher-powered affair than Standard events.
In decks
Any deck containing one or more non-Standard format card is a Legacy deck, and may only be played in Legacy events.
- A Standard format Deck shows no ribbon in the deck editor.
- A Legacy format Deck shows the Legacy Ribbon () with the deck.
