Kiora, the Rising Tide is a blue merfolk Planeswalker, introduced in March 2026 along with update 7.8.1, after the Morningtide and Eventide sets.

She has average health and deck limits which slightly favor Spells at the expense of Supports. She has strong mana gains in blue, followed by green and white.

She has a Passive Ability: Passionate for the Sea.

Kiora, the Rising Tide is the second of few playable Planeswalkers in MtGPQ which embody Kiora at different points in her life.

Story

Kiora always had only one goal in mind: keeping the seas of her world protected from the threats coming from outside. She traveled from plane to plane honing her control over the seas. In the plane of Theros, Kiora fought and defeated the Goddess Thassa and took her bident, augmenting her own power over the tides. Kiora helped the fight against the Eldrazi after trying to fight them alone, and went back to Zendikar to help fight the Phyrexian invasion.
