Planeswalkers (Infobox · Data) |
Vraska, Golgari Queen is a black and green gorgon Planeswalker, introduced in November 2018 along with the Guilds of Ravnica card set.
She has average health, and deck limits with an unbalanced spread, focusing on Creatures. She has good mana gains in Black and Green and others neutral.
Her abilities have minor themes around life levels and support reinforcements, including gaining life and spending a reinforcement for minor card draw and mana, and creating an indestructible support Token which continues to Reinforce and cause the opponent to lose life according to its size. She can also permanently degrade enemy creatures or supports.
Vraska is arguably the Planeswalker most impacted by Oktagon scrupulously separating damage and life loss. Used to be, the requirement to have a creature on board and for the opponent to have lost life were in most cases the same thing - now the player must build Lose Life cards into their deck to make her ultimate ability function at all. Not that it was all that great to start with: Chandra 3's ability does better damage, has no requirements, costs half as much Loyalty, and is a first ability, making room for better.
Vraska, Golgari Queen, sometimes called V2, is the second of two playable Planeswalkers in MtGPQ which embody Vraska at different points in her life.

Story
"On Ixalan, Vraska encountered Jace Beleren—the Living Guildpact and a Planeswalker himself—and discovered the doom that Nicol Bolas planned to unleash on Ravnica.
Vraska asked Jace to hold on to her memories of him and Bolas's plans, resolving to live as a sleeper agent until the moment to return her memories, so she could retaliate against Nicol Bolas in defense of her home."
